Rajinikanth calls Jayalalithaa after leaving hospital

Chennai, Jun 16: Superstar Rajinikanth spoke to Jayalalithaa, Chief Minister, Tamil Nadu and congratulated her on her recent victory in the state on Wednesday, Jun 16. He also told her that he would be soon back in India, said a release by Tamil Nadu government.

The Chief Minister expressed her happiness on hearing his voice and wished him well asking him to come back soon to India. He also told Jayalalithaa that she was the first person he called after he was discharged from the hospital.

Dhanush, Rajinikanth's son-in-law's tweet read: "Superstar discharged from hospital. He has recovered completely and taking rest. Soon national award celebrations :) god bless."

The actor is currently on a vacation, said his family adding that he will be back in Jul.

After Rajinikanth started shooting for "Rana" a Tamil period movie on Apr 29, the actor started complaining of exhaustion, following which he was admitted to several hospitals.

On Wednesday, Jun 15 sources confirmed that the actor has been discharged from the hospital in Singapore.

The Tollywood superstar will soon reach Chennai as "he (Rajinikanth) is stable and fit" now, sources close to the hero informed.

The superstar was admitted to intensive care unit of the city-state's Mount Elizabeth Hospital. Later he was taken to Singapore for better treatment.

The 60-year-old hero has been suffering from acute gastro-intestinal and respiratory problems and was admitted to hospital thrice since Apr 29.
