Sai Baba's inner chamber Yajur Mandir to be opened soon

Hyderabad, Jun 15: Spiritual guru Sai Baba's death was heartfelt and left followers in total dismay following his death on Apr 24. But even in death Sai Baba sparked off a huge controversy on who would lead his multi-crore empire of charitable institutions that consists of schools and hospitals.

After a consensus was arrived following the mature stand taken by the members of the Satya Sai Baba trust, the matter was resolved without much flare-up. Another such decision was taken by the trust to open the Baba's personal chamber, the Yajur Mandir at the Prashanti Nilayam ashram in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh.

The decision was made following a meeting by trust members. Key trust member and former chief justice of India P N Bhagwati said that that chamber would be opened and the things found inside will be declared. He also stated that the trust would do everything they can to protect Baba'a property.

The key of the private chamber was in the custody of Baba's caretaker Satyajit and remained closed since Baba's hospitalization on Mar 28. There were earlier unconfirmed reports that said that the chamber contained huge amount of cash, ornaments and jewellery with some reports claiming that the huge portions of valuables were moved out of the ashram when Baba was hospitalized.

The trust had vehemently denied all the false reports. The opening of the Yajur Mandir has sparked off another controversy with Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader D. Nagireddy demanding that the chamber be opened only in the presence of devotees.
