Monday, June 13: Senior journalist Jyotirmoy Dey's murder case is being investigated by the Mumbai police. On Monday, June 13 the Mumbai police have taken Dey's laptop, a hard disk and some important documents into custody.

Dey who headed the special investigative team from Mid-Day newspaper, Mumbai, was killed on Saturday, June 11, by few unidentified bike-borne assailants. He was shot dead by firing five bullets. Dey was working on an oil mafia article. It was being suspected that probably the oil mafia head was behind murder.

The Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Himanshu Roy, said, "We have some important leads in the case. We have taken Dey's laptop, hard disk and certain documents from his residence in Powai. Examination of these articles would help us in investigations".

It was revealed from the preliminary investigations that the assailants were young between 20-25 years. They were hired from outer areas of Mumbai.

A senior police confirms that the incident is being examined and probed from all the angles. But their possible suspicion still involves the oil mafia people.
