Lokpal should include PM 1st: Narayana Murthy pinches MMS

Bangalore, Jun 12: When the entire nation was busy in criticising the government's demand not to include the Prime Minister and Chief Justice within Lokpal's ambit, another eminent voice went against the government. I-T giant Infosys' outgoing chief Narayana Murthy pinched the PM and supported the stand of the civil society members in Lokpal panel.

Hurling his attack on Manmohan Singh, Murthy said, "Knowing that the kind of extraordinary individual (prime minister) Manmohan Singh is, I have no doubt that he would be the first one to ask to include him under the Lokpal."

"I think in a democracy, pluralism is inevitable. That is what makes democracy stronger. I don't think anyone can be against such a movement to end corruption," added Murthy while speaking at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Bangalore on Saturday, Jun 11.

Murthy, who will resign from Infosys on Aug 20, became emotional while delivering his speech at his last AGM as a chief of the company. "It is not easy for me to deliver my last address at this forum. As I speak, a mosaic of images from the past whizz through my mind," said Murthy.
