BSF constable shoots himself to death with service rifle

Constable G M Reddy posted at Koteshwar shot himself in his head and died on the spot, BSF IG A K Sinha said. Reddy had joined duty a day before yesterday after returning from a two-month leave, he said.
Sinha said the reason behind the young constable's action was yet to be known. The 25-year-old constable was posted with the 117 Battalion of the BSF at Koteshwar which is the last land point of India.
Beyond Koteshwar is the creek region, a huge marshy area, many times used by Pakistani fishermen to infiltrate into Indian territory.
Last month, a CISF jawan who was under severe debt and family problems had fired indiscriminately in Naroda area of the city and injured five persons, including a policemen. He was later arrested and disciplinary action was ordered against him.
