Maran may be sidelined in the next cabinet reshuffle

Tuesday, June 7: DMK leader Dayanidhi Maran wouldn't ever have had a nightmare that he might be eliminated from the next Cabinet restructure, due to his alleged involvement in the 2G scam.

After A Raja and Kanimozhi, now it's Maran's time, who is the third DMK leader to be added in the telecom list. According to the sources, Maran might be named in the FIR for the Aircel-Maxis deal.

Situations worsened for Maran after Aircel founder C Sivasankaran told the CBI on Monday, June 6 that Maran had forced him to sell Aircel to Malaysian telecom communication firm Maxis.

On the contrary, Maran defended himself by saying that Sivasankaran is a "multi-billionare", hence, no one could dare to force him to sell stake. "I have never forced anyone to do business with me. He could have gone to court."

On Monday, June 6 Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that the "Dayanidhi case" is being investigated by the law enforcement agencies and they would work "without fear or favour".

Maran is likely to meet the Prime Minister in Delhi on Tuesday, June 7.
