Jaya abusers in trouble; case filed against DMK minister

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa
Chennai, Jun 7: A complaint has been filed against former DMK minister for agriculture Veerapandi Arumugam for allegedly "using unparliamentary words" against Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at a press meet during campaign to Tamil Nadu assembly polls in April.

Talking to reporters here after loding a written complaint with DGP K Ramanujan, A B Manikandan, an advocate from Salem, said on April 9, (a day after Jayalalithaa visited Salem for election campaign), Arumugam had organised a press meet and used abusive and unparliamentary words against the AIADMK supremo and former Chief Minister M G Ramachandran," he said.

"I have produced the CD that contains the abuse words used against the personal life of AIADMK leader by Arumugam to the DGP," he said. Manikandan also alleged that he received 24 threatening calls from the minister.

"I had already brought out the issue to the District Electoral Officer. But he is been transferred now," he said.
