Suspected ISI agent arrested in Roorkee

Dehra Dun, June 1: A suspected ISI agent in Roorkee has been taken into custody by the police on Thursday, June 2, as he was caught providing crucial information regarding Army installations in Meerut and Roorkee to an officer of the Pakistani spy agency.

Furkan alias KK alias Ajay, a resident of Meerut in Haridwar district, had a connection with an ISI officer in Pakistan, identified as Major Rathod since a long time and was providing him maps, photographs and other vital information of Army installations in Meerut and Roorkee through e-mail.

Furkan, while boarding a train from Roorkee railway station, was detained by a team of district police. The SSP said that Furkan was being given Rs 5,000 per month by the ISI for providing the information to the agency.

On Tuesday, May 31, the police received an information that Furkan was going to Lucknow from Meerut. However, he got down from the train at Moradabad railway station sensing that police was chasing him. But finally, he came to Roorkee to catch a train where he got arrested.
