JetLite flight suffers bird hit; passengers, crew safe

Patna, Jun 1: A JetLite flight, with 94 passengers and six crew members onboard from Mumbai to Patna via Ranchi suffered a bird hit, but landed safely at the airport here today (June 1), airline sources said.

The flight S2721 landed at Ranchi airport from where it took off at 8.35 am for Patna for return journey to Mumbai, sources said.

The flight suffered a bird hit midway but the pilots ensured its safe landing at the Jayaprakash Narayan International airport here at 9.15 am as per schedule, they said, adding that all the passengers and crew members, including the two pilots, onboard the plane were safe.

The sources said that some snag had been detected after thorough check up of the engines following the bird hit and engineers were attending to it .

The flight would remain grounded here and was expected to leave for Mumbai at 2.30 pm, they added.
