High alert sounded in Bangalore and Chennai airports

New Delhi, Jun 1: Airports across the country especially the Chennai and Bangalore International Airports have been put on high alert after a tip-off from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) following a bomb threat.

Security has been heightened in the two airports after receiving a mysterious call on Tuesday night. The call to the Bangalore airport warned of a threat to a Bangalore-Chennai flight.

Following the call, all Bangalore-Chennai flights were duly checked with none of the flights being delayed. The CISF have been rushed into action with a bomb squad checking each and every flight flying out of Bangalore.

A high alert situation prevailed in both the domestic and international airport in Chennai.

No suspicious objects have been found yet.
