Meet Bellary Reddy, the Richie Rich

Bangalore, May 30: G Janardhana Reddy, tourism and infrastructure minister of Karnataka, wears a belt costing Rs 13.15 lakh, sits on a gold chair priced Rs 2.2 crore and offers prayers to gold idols, worth Rs 2.58 crore.

The bowls, gold plates, knife, spoon and fork at his house are worth Rs 20.87 lakh, he said in a statement to the Karnataka Lokayukta. The details of his liabilities and assets till Mar 31, 2010 were filed by him on Jun 25, 2010.

The list that shows a record of the ornaments owned by him runs into three pages, worth crores. He has numerous sets of gold articles, gold bangles, pendants, mens jewellery, yellow sapphire stone, rings, gold idols and rubies. The silver articles owned by him are worth tens of lakhs that includes pooja items and tableware.

Reddy owns property worth Rs 153.49 crore, excluding his ancestral property, agricultural land and buildings. His earnings amount to Rs 31.54 crore, while the amount he earns through his business is Rs 18.30 crore.
