2G: Order on Kanimozhi's bail plea reserved

New Delhi, May 30: The Delhi High Court on Monday, May 30, reserved order on the bail plea of Kanimozhi and Sharad Kumar, the prime accused in the 2G spectrum scam.

Her lawyer Ram Jethmalani, portrayed her as a dutiful and responsible mother so her bail plea would be considered. Kanimozhi is currently lodged in Tihar jail along with Telecom Minister, A Raja

Her bail plea was earlier rejected on Friday, May 20 by Justice OP Saini, a special CBI Judge after she was charged over her alleged involvement in the 2G spectrum scam for accepting a bribe of Rs 214 crore.

Earlier today, Cineyug Director, Karim Morani was rejected bail by the Delhi High Court. Morani, one of the main accused in 2G spectrum scam was arrested for accepting Rs 6 crore kickbacks for assisting the Rs 200 crore transaction from DB Realty to Kalaignar TV. His earlier anticipatory bail plea on medical grounds was rejected by the special court on May 23.
