Acid attack: Two awarded life imprisonment

Ghaziabad, May 27: Two persons were sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court on May 26 in connection with an acid attack on a lady teacher.

Additional district and session judge Pramod Kumar also imposed a fine of Rs 8,000 each on the duo, court sources said.

On August 11, 2009, Waliullah threw acid on the face of Shahida when she refuted his overture for marriage, prosecution charged

Waliullah had brought the acid with the help of his two friends. The third accused was involved in an another case and his sentence will be announced later, they added.
