Smile vanishes as Kani breaks down when left out of 'Karuna'

New Delhi, May 20: Some people are there who get significance for their everlasting smile. Like popular actress Madhury Dikshit, DMK MP Kanimozhi also can be named in that group. But fate has taken Kanimozhi at a frail moment where she was forced to leave her smile far behind.

A special CBI court on Friday, May 20 denied bail plea application to Kanimozhi and Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar as the court claimed that the accused may temper with evidence if they are left free.

After hearing the verdict, Kanimozhi hugged her husband and broke down completely in the Patiala House Court. Kani was taken into Patiala lock up soon after the court verdict. According to police sources, the DMK MP will be sent to the Tihar jail by 4:45 pm on Friday.

Kanimozhi is one of the main accused in the biggest telecom scam in the country. The accused DMK MP has been chargesheeted by the CBI for allegedly accepting Rs 200 crore bribe for Kalaignar TV - where she owns a share of 20 percent.

However, Kanimozhi claimed, "I was anticipating this (arrest) order, will take the battle forward legally." It seems that Kanimozhi's arrest has completely shattered DMK supremo and the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M Karunanidhi who refused to comment on the entire situation.
