Probe into murder of Jamait-e-Ahli Hadees chief complete: DGP

Srinagar, May 19: Investigation into the murder of Jamait-e-Ahli Hadees chief Moulvi Showkat Ahmad Shah has been completed and the accused will be chargesheeted soon, Jammu and Kashmir police on said on Thursday, May 19.

"The case has been solved and the accused will be chargesheeted shortly," Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda told reporters.

Three persons, including a leader of radical politico- religious outfit Saut-ul-Haq (Voice of Truth), were arrested for their alleged involvement in Shah''s killing in a bomb blast on April 8 as he was entering a mosque in Maisuma area of the city to lead Friday prayers.

The arrested persons were president of Saut-ul-Haq Abdul Ghani Dar alias Abdullah Ghazali and his two associates Javed Ahmad Munshi and Nisar Ahmad Khan.

Police had claimed that Ghazali had discussed "broad contours" of the plan to kill Shah with a jailed militant commander Ashiq Hussain Faktoo alias Dr Qasim, husband of Asiya Indrabi - the chief of radical women's outfit Dukhtaran-e-Millat.

Later, police arrested two more persons in connection with the case.

"The arrested are associated with the conspiracy and the commission of the crime," Khoda said.
