J&K govt suspends GMC doctor for beating attendant in Jammu

Dr Avinash Soodan, who is undergoing PG Course in the hospital, was placed under suspension pending enquiry into the allegations that he beat up Nazir Ahmed and injured him on May 15 at the hospital after an altercation, a spokesman of Medical Education Department, GMC, said.
An FIR was lodged against Dr Soodan by the attendants the patient and he was arrested under Section 307 of Ranbir Penal Code, he said.
The Government has also constituted a Medical Board to establish the allegations made by the doctor that he received injuries as a result of a scuffle with the attendants of the patient.
