Big day for Assam, Kerala; Gogoi, Chandy to swear-in today

Congress' Gogoi, who has marked a niche for himself in Assam politics by becoming the CM for the third consecutive term, will reach the Raj Bhawan at 3 pm. Other leaders for Gogoi's cabinet will be chosen later after the consultation of party high command in New Delhi.
Despite its failure in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Congress with its allies managed to bag majority seats in West Bengal, Assam and Kerala. Led by Gogoi, the party won 78 of the 126 Assembly seats in 2011 assembly election.
In Kerala, the party received well response from the voters as UDF alliance managed to win 72 seats with the then ruling LDF alliance bagging 68 seats.
Party sources confirmed that Chandy along with six other leaders of his cabinet will swear-in on Wednesday at Thiruvananthapuram.
Party sources also confirmed that Congress will get nine cabinet berths, Muslim League will get four and the Kerala Congress (Mani) will have two Cabinet berths.
