Mamata tells Pranab she wants Congress to join WB ministry

Kolkata, May 14: Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, fresh from the victory of the alliance in the assembly elections, met the Union Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee to request Congress to join the new ministry to be formed in West Bengal.

Party insiders said Banerjee discussed ministry-making exercise and the likely participation of Congress with Mukherjee at his south Kolkata residence.

Banerjee, set to take over reins as chief minister, had earlier said that she would like allies Congress and SUCI to join the Trinamool Congress-led ministry.

With her magnanimous victory that saw the ouster of the 34 year old Left rule in the state, Mamata is being lauded for her historic win. What remains to be seen is the constitution of the Ministry and who would adorn key berths?
