Army Marketplace - App Store only for US Army

Media reported that the US army is creating an online application marketplace for their soldiers. The aim behind the 'Army Marketplace' is to empower US soldiers and boost efficiency. The head of the project Colonel Gregory Motes, chief of the newly created Mobile Applications Branch, described it as more than just a place to download useful software for phone.
"It's much more than just an app store. It's actually a place where apps can become officially certified and also where ideas can be generated, purchased, and contracted out," Fox News quoted Motes, as saying.
The new Army Marketplace app store will offer new apps for both iPhones and Google Android devices. Officials said that more than 30 apps are ready to hit the Army Marketplace. Many of these apps can be used for training and preparation.
Motes said that a special app helps soldiers maintain their diet and exercise regime. Like this, other apps are also designed to improve the quality of the soldiers.
