Modi is not a 100% bad person: Sukumar Azhikode

Thrissur, May 9: Maverick orator of social issues and public commentator in Kerala, Sukumar Azhikode is once again in the media limelight for his non-conformist views. He was speaking on the book release by CT Williams, 'Shabdam Ayodhya Vare Ethumbol" (Till the noise reaches Ayodhya) on Sunday. Azhikode"s comments have raised quite a few eyebrows and have stirred controversy for his blatant comment on Gujarat CM Narendra Modi.

Azhikode"s fiery rhetoric apparently mentions Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi and speaks of him in high regard. He was quoted as saying that he had no qualms about mentioning the good deeds done by Narendra Modi and further adds that a bad person is not always 100 percent bad and also just because he is a bad person does not nullify his good side also. He also reiterated that “this does not mean I justify his dreadful actions also".

In the public function Azhikode stressed that he was not in the belief that Modi was a bad administrator and he himself was always in the forefront in accusing Modi of his political debacles. He also quoted a fact from mythology and said, “When Valmiki wrote the Ramayana, he had praised Ravana in it. That does not imply that Valmiki was a Ravana-supporter." Azhikode also mentioned that he had openly criticized Modi on several occasions on his radical views but also praised what he did for the country.
