Facebook phone HTC ChaCha gets release date

Berlin, May 4: The latest rumor mills reports suggest that Taiwan based smartphone maker, HTC, will launch its Facebook smartphone, HTC ChaCha, in Jun 2011.

While announcing a series of Facebook-centric events, HTC Facebook page revealed the launch date of the HTC ChaCha Facebook mobile, which was announced along with another Facebook mobile, HTC Salsa, at 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

According to HTC Germany Facebook page, events will be held in Dortmund (Germany), Wien (Austria) and Zurich (Switzerland) on Jun 18.

The new ChaCha smartphone features a dedicated 'Facebook Button', which gives one-touch access to the Facebook platform and ensures 24X7 connectivity to the site. HTC ChaCha has a 2.6-inch capacitive touchscreen and a full QWERTY keypad. The touch and type facility ensures easy typing to be updated on Facebook.

HTC ChaCha runs on Google Android OS powered with 600 MHz processor. This new mobile also boasts a five megapixel camera at the rear with LED flash and a VGA camera in the front for video calling. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 512 MB ROM and 512 MB internal memory.
