New Delhi, May 4: After cooling his heels in the CBI and police custody, tainted Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee (CWG OC) Chief (former) Suresh Kalmadi on Wednesday, May 4 has been sent to judicial custody.

Kalmadi's lawyer Hitesh Jain informed, "Court has remanded Kalmadi 14 days Judicial Custody. Next hearing on May 18, next step will be filing bail application."

A Delhi court passed the order to Kalmadi, Surjit Lal and ASV Prasad, who has also been arrested in the same case.

On Apr 26, Kalmadi was sent to custody for eight days. Kalmadi is under the scanner for the massive irregularities during the conduct of the Commonwealth Games in Delhi. He will be charged on accounts of criminal conspiracy and cheating under Sections 120 B and 420 under the Indian Penal Code.

On his way to the CBI special court on Apr 26, a man identified as Kapil Thakur threw a slipper at Kalmadi. The man was arrested immediately by the police officials present there. In spite of the insult, Kalmadi continued his journey steadfastly to the Patiala House court.
