RIM to unveil new smartphones at BlackBerry World conference
RIM said at its annual BlackBerry World conference that it will share the latest information surrounding the BlackBerry platform to business leaders, IT professionals, BlackBerry Channel Partners, software vendors and solution providers.
Earlier during the launch of its PlayBook tablet, RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie hinted about the new smartphones. He said, "It's going to be a newsy summer for us. And a very newsy BlackBerry World in a few weeks. Let's just say I like what we've got."
At least two flagship smartphones running on BlackBerry 6.1 are expected to be announced. The new smartphones will feature both QWERTY keypad and touchscreen with all other essential features to grab the attention of smartphone lovers. There are reports that RIM may unveil the touchscreen version of the Bold smartphone.
