Chidambaram praises Modi's accuser; slammed

The spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nirmala Sitharaman stated, "The Home Minister should have allowed the judicial process to take its own course and not interfered in it by taking sides."
Recently, Chidambaram, during his West Bengal tour, said, "I am glad people are standing up to say what they feel happened during the period." Chidamabaram's statement came after an IPS officer, a graduate from Mumbai IIT, Sanjeev Bhatt filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court against Modi over 2002 Gujarat riot.
The BJP spokesperson also criticised the home minister as he was the counsel to additional judge RR Jain (from Gujarat) in a case before the Supreme Court, wherein Bhatt was a co-accused for falsely implicating Rajasthan advocate Sumer Singh Rajpurohit in a narcotics case.
