12-year old girl killed by brother for family honour

Rohtak, April 23: Yet another horror tale of honour killing has raised its head. And no surprises for guessing that it comes from the hinterlands of Haryana.

According to the Haryana police, Charan Singh, a youth aged in the early 20s has been arrested for killing his 12-year-old sister who studied in Class five. The incident has occured in Roorki village of Haryana's Rohtak district and the accused worked there at a brick kiln.

Their parents live in a village in Uttar Pradesh.

According to Ajmer Singh, the investigating officer of this case was reported by IANS as saying, "We detained four people, including Charan, for questioning. During intense interrogation, he confessed his crime...He said he was not happy as his sister used to talk to another youth at the same brick-kiln."
