Deshmukh quits NCP to protest anti-Hazare stand

Anna Hazare
Ahmednagar, April 18: Vinayak Deshmukh, an NCP leader, today (April 18) said that he was quitting the party to protest its stand on Jan Lokpal Bill and criticism of Anna Hazare. Deshmukh said he sent the resignation to Madhukar Pichad, state president of NCP.

Deshmukh told PTI that NCP had failed to meet the expectations of unemployed youth. He also said that NCP had tried to defame Hazare, who had made a "selfless contribution" to the country, "but some NCP leaders are criticising him only because he has taken a strong stand against corruption".

Deshmukh was with Congress until a few years ago.
