Indore, April 17: Madhya Pradesh BJP chief Prabhat Jha today (April 17) said that the state government was working for the welfare of tribal communities and dalits, and more than 50 schemes were being run for their upliftment.

"BJP is working hard for the tribals and dalits'' welfare in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan''s government is running more than 50 schemes for them," Jha told PTI here.

As a result, he said BJP could wrest power from Congress in the reserved Sonkatch (SC) and Kukshi (ST) assembly constituencies in the by-polls two months ago.

Jha said the tribals and dalits now knew the real face of Congress.

About the Congress's allegation that BJP had not yet made a tribal person the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Jha said that it was not right to presume that only a member of the community could do good for it. Congress used them only as vote bank, he alleged.

Jha said that only that political party which wins more than 50 reserved category seats can come to power in Madhya Pradesh.
