9-year-old boy thrashed to death by another minor

Muzaffarnagar, Apr 11: A nine-year-old boy was allegedly beaten to death by another minor boy with a cricket bat at Kawal village here, police said today (Apr 11).

The incident took place yesterday when the deceased Pawan Kumar Pal and his friend had an argument while playing cricket in the village, Superintendent of Police K B Singh said, adding that the accused has been arrested.

In another incident, a juvenile inmate of a protective home was yesterday arrested and produced in court in connection with the recent attack on an official of the home, police said, adding the minor was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.

The Assistant Superintendent of the protective home Ompal Singh had sustained injuries when a group of irate inmates attacked him on April 2 for not providing them proper food.
