Reliance Power General Manager in Jharkhand shot dead

Ranchi, Apr 6: Extending the jittery of Anil Ambani, Reliance Powers' General Manager in Jharkhand - Manoj Ojha has been shot dead on Wednesday, Apr 6.

Sources informed that Ojha was attacked by some unidentified gunmen. The assailers hurled the attack when the Reliance Power's GM was traveling in his personal vehicle.

Ojha was spot dead and four other persons, who were present in the vehicle with Ojha, were injured.

Jharkhand police began the investigation, though failed to give any clue about the reason of the sudden attack.

Attack on Ojha raised question about Naxal or Maoists attack as the state witnesses the miseries over the anti-government row.

However, the company's chief Anil Ambani recently appeared before the PAC regarding his company's alleged role in the 2G spectrum scam. The investigation agency CBI also charge-sheeted against the four officials of the company.

The company spokesperson, in a statement on Ojha's sudden death, said, "In an unfortunate incident today, certain unknown persons opened fire at two vehicles carrying company officials from Simaria to Hazaribagh in district Chhatra, Jharkhand.

One company executive has succumbed to the injury, and another is seriously injured and is currently under expert medical observation.

The state police has been informed and is investigating the incident. The company is extending its full cooperation to them. The company is deeply saddened at the unfortunate demise of Mr. Manoj Ojha and is committed to provide all the support to his family members. The company is also concerned about the well being of its other officials who got injured in this incident and is taking utmost care to provide the best possible medical help to them."
