Assam: CM Gogoi's former press adviser killed

Jorhat, Mar 31: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi's former press adviser Debo Kumar Bora was killed in a road accident in Golaghat district.

According to reports, the accident took place when the car in which he was travelling overnight to arrange chief minister Gogoi's press conference in Jorhat hit a stationary truck.

Bora's wife and son, who were also travelling with him received minor injuries, and were admitted to the Jorhat Medical College Hospital after the accident, which took place at Rongajan near the Kaziranga National Park around 2.20 a.m.

His driver and PSO have also been admitted to the hospital with minor injuries.

Chief Minister Gogoi described Bora as a dedicated Congress worker, and conveyed his condolence to the bereaved family.

Various political outfits including the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) have also condoled his death. The poll campaign in Jorhat district was cancelled following the incident.
