Asus Eee Pad Transformer tablet launched: Specs & Review
Asus unveiled the Eee Pad Transformer tablet at Consumer Electronics Show in Jan 2011 along with two other innovative tablets. The Eee Pad Transformer runs on Android 3.0 Gingerbread operating system powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor.
Asus Transformer tablet has a 10.1-inch touchscreen display with 1280x800 resolution. Asus claimed that the IPS panel with LED backlighting is made from durable and scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass technology and is viewable at angles up to 178 degree. The tablet is also equipped with SRS Sound technology that provides a dynamic 3D stereo audio experience.
Eee Pad Transformer boasts a 5 megapixel rear facing camera that can record HD video and a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera for video calling. The HD videos recorded on the tablet can be played on HDTVs by connecting through HDMI port.
The optional docking station provides access to a full QWERTY keyboard along with unique Android Function keys, instantly turning the Transformer into a mobile content creation device. Asus offers Waveshare user interface on Eee Pad. Other features on this Android tablet include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, Micro SD Card Reader port etc.

Asus claimed that the new Eee Pad Transformer tablet will provide 9.5 hours of battery life and it will be extended to 16 hours with dock. The pricing and release date in India are not yet available. Stay tuned for more updates.
