Fresh earthquake hits Japan; tsunami alert issued

Tokyo, Mar 28: The United States Geological Survey reported that another earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 hit eastern Japan on Monday, Mar 28 early morning. Following the earthquake, Japan issued a tsunami alert.

There were no reports on casualties or damage, but the Japan Meteorological Agency warned of a tsunami at Miyagi Prefecture. Meteorological Agency reported that the tsunami may rise up to 1.6 feet height.

US Geological Survey announced that the epic centre of the quake was near the east coast of Honshu and was 3.7 miles deep.

On Mar 11, the country was jolted over an earthquake with 9.1 magnitude followed by a massive tsunami. More than 10,000 people have been dead over the calamity, unofficial sources informed.
