Bihar: residents torch electricity board office asking power

Face with acute shortage of power and drinking water, hundreds of people took to the streets and shouted "anti-administration" slogans, official sources said.
They vandalised the office of electricity board and broke the furniture, besides torching the office and equipment they said,
They staged demonstration and shouted slogans against unavailability of power and blocked the Nawada-Gaya, Nawada-Jamui and Patna--Ranchi road for about an hour and disrupted the road traffic.
They also stopped several vehicles and smashed the windscreens.
The situation was controlled with heavy deployment of security personnel by the authorities in the town, sources said, adding situation was stated to be tense but under control.
