Orissa: 204 cases settled in lok adalat

The lok adalat held under the chairmanship of district and session judge, Sundargarh Saroj Kumar Mohapatra, disposed a record number of 53 accidental compensatin case and collected a compensation amount of Rs 76.79 lakh.
The adalat directed the National Insurance company to pay compensation of Rs 15.78 lakh disposing nine cases while disposing three cases the judge directed the Reliance Insurance company to pay Rs 14,10 lakh.
Civil and Criminal cases of 151 numbers were disposed during the day long lok adalat directing the parties to pay Rs 1,88,074 on the spot, the official sources said here today.
In another lok adalat held at the Sub-divisional Headquarters Bonai, 120 cases were settled collecting fine amount of Rs 74,500 on the spot.
Sub-Judge, Bonai, Pratap Kumar Patra conducted the lok adalat.
