Google begins testing Google Music; threat to Apple iTunes
The rumors on Google Music service started doing rounds back in 2010, but Google refused to comment on this. Later insiders from music industry reported that Google was in talks with Industry giants to launch a music download store and a digital song locker.
More over, in Mar 2011, a developer at XDA Developers forum spotted Google Music after installing the Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system on a smartphone. Later, Google announced that it will restrict access to Honeycomb source code as the operating system is not yet ready for some devices.
Google Music service will allow users to stream music through their laptops, PCs, smartphones and tablets. It will be similar or provide more features than Apple's iTunes, which controls more than 70 percentage of US digital music sales.
