PTI staff hold demonstration for wage board's notification

Mumbai, Mar 24: Members of the Press Trust of India Workers' Union Western Region staged a demonstration here today demanding immediate implementation of the recommendations of the Justice Majithia Wage Board for working journalists and non-journalists.

Addressing a meeting held at the news agency's office here this afternoon, Federation of PTI Employees' Unions president John Gonsalves blamed the Congress-led Central government for failure to ensure speedy implementation of the wage board's recommendations made three months age.

The demonstrators, including journalists and non- journalists, demanded that the government immediately notify the wage board recommendations.

"The western region affiliate of the Federation and members of the Confederation of Newspapers and News Agencies Employees' Organisations demand immediate implementation of the recommendations," Gonsalves said.
