Criminal conspiracy charges likely against Raja by CBI

New Delhi, Mar 23: There seem to be more trouble brewing for tainted Former Telecom Minster A Raja and party. The CBI is expected to file its first charge sheet today and will build a case of criminal conspiracy against Raja, former Telecom secretary Siddharth Behura, Raja"s private secretary R K Chandolia and Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Usman Balwa. Also under the conspiracy radar is Unitech Limited.

The charge sheet will also indict the criminal conspiracy link between Raja, Kalaignar TV CEO Sharad Kumar and Shahid Balwa, revealed CBI sources. There are also reports that the DMK family including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M Karunanidhi, his daughter Kanimozhi and wife Dayalu Ammal will get a breather and are most unlikely to be named in the charge sheet. Unnamed sources within the CBI said, “Despite having a majority share, Dayalu Ammal seems to be only a sleeping partner in Kalaignar television." But it seems the investigative agencies are closely following Kanimozhi's dubious links in the whole affair.

The CBI will file the charge sheet with the Delhi trial court on Mar 31 along with a status report on the findings of the 2g spectrum scam togeather with the investigations carried out by the Supreme Court on Mar 29. There are also strong rumours that more companies will be under the investigative agencies hawk-eyes with the first charge sheet only covering 10 per cent of the findings. The source also revealed that investigations are still on on the Unitech-Tata land deal and 1,600 crore loan. However, probe is on the fact that Raja favoured Unitech by altering the cut-off date for application.
