Bihar: Health Minister receives threat call

Patna, Mar 22: Bihar Health Minister Ashwani Kumar Chaube has received a threat call on his mobile number asking him to cough up Rs 20 lakhs or "else he will be eliminated", official sources said today.

An anonymous person called Chaube thrice on his mobile phone last night asking him to pay Rs 20 lakhs within the next two days or else he will be killed, the sources said.

The unidentified person made the call to the Health minister from mobile numbers - 7352534010 and 7870373247 - thrice in a span of 40 minutes between 9.41 pm and 10.20 pm last night, they said.

Chaube promptly informed the Director General of Police (DGP) Neelmani and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Patna, Alok Kumar about the threat call to him, the sources said.

An investigation was underway to trace the location of the call and the identity of the person who made threat call to the minister, police sources said.
