New Delhi, Mar 22: It seems that India has suddenly taken a dislike for its illustrious senior citizens. Few days back, a daily reported that Shashi Kapoor died. But this week the famous actor completed his 73 years. Now, continuing with the trend of unverified rumours, famous author Shobha De declared former President Abdul Kalam dead.

At first, Shobha De in her Twitter account said, "India salutes its greatest president!Dr Abdul Kalam brought rare grace, courage, dignity and simplicity to Rashtrapati Bhavan. RIP."

However, soon after the news that Kalam death was a rumour, the writer hurriedly apologised to Kalam through Twitter as she Tweeted, "A thousands apologies. Our beloved former President is alive and well. Jiyo hazaaron sal. Maaafi chhaiye."

Today (Tuesday, Mar 22) 'Kalam' was the highly searched word in Google Trends. Following the rumours, people started searching for news about Abdul Kalam.

In reality, it is the former advisor of Kalam - Dr Hafiz Saleh Muhammad Alladin who died and not the former President. 80-years-old Alladin was the educational advisor of Kalam, and among the top scientists in his field.
