Shahid Balwa compromised nation's security?

New Delhi, Mar 9: The 2G spectrum shame is traveling outside the country and has become a major thorn in the ruling UPA government's throat. After the scam robbed a whopping Rs 1.75 lakh crore from the country's exchequer, now recent news have revealed that the scam might have endangered the nation's security situation as well.

This time its not the dubious links of Former Telecom Minister, A Raja that is under the scanner but that of Shahid Balwa, Ex-MD of DB Realty and promoter of Swan Telecom. After unfairly acquiring the 2G licenses, now his alleged links with the underworld, Pakistani and Chinese links are grabbing the spotlight.

The investigative agencies are probing if Balwa has put India's security at risk through his dealings. A source revealed, “There are sufficient evidence of Balwa having close links with the underworld and anti-India elements in Pakistan and China." The latest piece of news can be worrisome and will have larger implications in turning the investigation angle in an all-together different route.

The Home Ministry has conveyed the information on Balwa's suspected links to the CBI. The chargesheet against him would be submitted to the Delhi High Court soon. The court will hear Balwa's petition pleading innocence. He is presently under judicial custody.
