Women face serious issues in India: Girija Vyas

Faridabad, Mar 7: Though women have come a long way since independence, there are serious issues which still need to be braved by them in the country, National Commission Of Women Chairperson Girija Vyas said on Monday, Mar 7.

Women must be socially and economically strong in today's times, she said, while addressing a seminar organised in Manav Rachna University on the eve of International Women's Day today.

While stressing on the need to empower women, Vyas said media is the fourth estate of India's democracy therefore it becomes their responsibility to highlight the serious challenges faced by women.
