Pak Navy shows Indian warships in advertisement

Pakistan flag
Islamabad, Mar 8: The Pakistan Navy has apparently put a picture from an Indo-US Naval Exercise in its print advertisement.

"The Pakistan Navy, 'A Silent Force to Reckon With' has done the biggest cockup ever," notes a blog Tarikh-nama. The original picture shows a naval fleet of eight ships, with a helicopter hovering over the sea.

The Pakistan Navy's advertisement seems to have photoshopped a world map onto the sea, and taken off the chopper from the picture. An extra ship has been copied and photoshop pasted "to make the line-up more menacing," commented the blog.

"Ain't the ad pretty with a map of the world and the peace symbol photoshopped onto the sea? Well, the ISPR - if it handled this ad - or the Naval DG PR - were so pathetic at their job that they didn't even check that the ad they were putting out was not of a Pakistan Navy fleet at all. In fact, the picture is from the Indo-US Naval Exercise, Malabar 2010," the blog said.

"Perhaps the Zulfiqar class frigate and Tariq class destroyer weren't good enough so they loaned out some from the Indian Navy," it added.

The Pakistan Navy's advertisement is about Aman-11, an exercise being hosted by Pakistan and involving naval representatives from 39 countries.
