Get the New: Mozilla releases Web Apps Project
San Francisco, Mar 6: The competition between Firefox creator Mozilla Labs, the search engine giant Google amd the technology giant Apple have reached beyond the internet browser market. In a new move to tackle these giants, Mozilla has announced that launch of its own web app store.
Heralding a direct challenger to Google's Chrome Web App Store and Apple's app stores, Mozilla rolled out the first developer release its Web Application project. This release contains stable APIs, developer utilities and documentation to help the users to get a jumpstart on building Web Apps and stores.

Using the new Web Apps Project, developers can publish their application to users. Mozilla provided a gallery of Web Apps hat developers have already started building using our APIs.
Mozilla also added that it will unveil follow up developments in coming weeks. It may include:
* A deeply integrated “in browser" experience that spans the entire find, install, launch, use and manage flow
* Syncing your Web Apps to your mobile devices
* Supporting native browser controls and OS integration
* Support for widgets and notifications to make your Web Apps more lively
Mozilla showed a new teaser video describing thge features of the upcoming Web App Store. It hinted the types of apps that we can expect in Web App store. The apps may have features like address book, allow users to share information instantly, helps to create desktop widgets etc.
