AP: Maoists hacks VR offical in Khammam

Khammam (AP), Mar 6: A Village Revenue Officer (VRO) of Krishnapuram village in the district was hacked to death, allegedly by Maoists, police said on Sunday, Mar 6.

Alam Krishaiah (55) was attacked with sharp weapons and stabbed around midnight yesterday by a group of four-six persons near his house in Peruru village.

"We suspect that the killing is the handiwork of Maoists, but investigations are on to establish the motive behind the murder," a senior police officer told PTI, adding that there were some reports that murder was an outcome of a land dispute.
