Bank branches to open in rural areas with 2,000+ population

Ghaziabad, Mar 5: Branches of leading and other nationalised banks will be opened in the district's rural area, where the population of village is more then 2,000, a a senior government official said today (Saturday, Mar 5).

"...216 branches will be opened in district in near future and farmers will get loans from their own village branches," said Ghaziabad District Chief Development Officer Ajay Shanker Shukla.

He said he got some complaints that some leading banks denied to give loans to farmers if their loan has been waived off earlier by the government.

"Stern actions will be taken against all nationalised and other leading banks if any farmer whose loan was earlier waived under any scheme by the government will be denied for giving the loan second time," he said.

Shukla said FIR will be lodged against the banks if any case of denial is found.
