Sex scandal hits Jabalpur Varsity

Jabalpur, Mar 4: Scandals have now found their way into the prestigious Jabalpur university of Madhya Pradesh as an alleged sex-for-marks scandal has come into light. Two officials of the university have already been arrested in connection with the case.

According to a complaint lodged in Feb 2011 by S Arya, a first year MBBS student of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical college, a senior student named Prerna Atwal asked her to sleep with a person named Raju Khan to get her marks increased in the revaluation.

Prerna is alleged to have said the girl that Khan had contacts in the university and could help her get better marks. She is also alleged to have informed the girl that she had failed in two subjects, even though the results were yet to be declared.

Police have already arrested Professor S S Rana and R S Kakodia, the Deputy Registrar of Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya and also Raju Khan.

Prerna Atwal and another person called Ajay Khandelwal are still at large, said the police.
