DMK workers hoarding EPIC cards: AIADMK

Madurai, Mar 3: AIADMK district secretary Sellur Raju today alleged that DMK workers were hoarding Electors Photo Identity Cards and these had not been distributed properly.

Participating in an all-party meeting convened by District collector C Kamaraj to discuss preparations for the Apr 13 assembly polls, he suggested that revenue and Village Administrative Officers start distributing EPIC cards in another two or three days.

He also charged that the model code of conduct was being violated and old age pension was still being sanctioned. He urged the administration to prevent distribution of stainless steel having the picture of MK Alagiri (Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's son), besides transfer of police officers who had functioned in a biased manner in the by-elections.

DMK secretary P Murthy said the EC should review the rule that candidates should start a fresh bank account and make all expenses only through it.
