No power at hands to be relinquished: Gaddafi

Muammar Gadaffi
Tripoli, Mar 2: Libya's leader Muammar Gaddafi and his supporters have been cornered after Libya's membership has been suspended in the United Nations Human Rights Council UNHRC) on Tuesday, Mar 1. Now, citing the set back, the defiant leader tried to cheer up his supporters when he addressed them in a meeting on Wednesday, Mar 3.

During his speech addressing his supporters, Gaddafi stated, "I have no power at hands which I can relinquish." The leader once again refused to step down from his power.

Trying to establish his love for democracy, Gaddafi claimed, "I don't practice any authority in Libya. Since 1977, I handed over Libya to our people."

Blaming the international terror outfit, Gaddafi again blamed al-Qaeda and claimed that the terror outfit drugged the insurgents in Libya. Gaddafi claimed that al-Qaeda is the mastermind behind Libya's protest.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Mar 1 stated, "It is up to us, the community of nations, to stand against the crime of a regime that has lost legitimacy and declared war on its own people."

Moon also added, "those who commit crimes against humanity should be punished."
