Need to create awareness on HIV/AIDS: Oscar Fernandes

Amritsar, Feb 27 (PTI) Oscar Fernandes, MP and head ofForum of Parliamentarian on HIV/AIDS, today stressed on theneed to create awareness on protection against the virus.

"It is difficult to get treatment of such diseases,and the only remedy is to spread awareness among the peopleto save human life," he told reporters on his visit to thecity.

He said asked all Congress workers in Punjab work atvillage level to make the masses aware protection against HIVand to stop discrimination against AIDS patients.

On Punjab politics, Fernandes, who is also GeneralSecretary of Congress, said only deserving candidate will begiven tickets to fight in 2012 Assembly elections.
