Jabbar Patel, Shabana Azmi bag Maha govt awards

Nagpur, Feb 27 (PTI) Noted actor Shabana Azmi anddirectors Jabbar Patel and Govind Nihalani have bagged theMaharashtra government''s awards in the field of cinema andtheatre.

Announcing the awards here today, Maharashtra ChiefMinister Prithviraj Chavan said the lifetime achievement awardwould be given to noted director Jabbar Patel and special VShantaram award to Smita Talvalkar.

The theatre award named after Prabhakar Panshikar went toSulbha Deshpande and Annasaheb Kirloskar award to noted singeractor Faiyaz.

The award in memory of Raj Kapoor will be given to GovindNihalani for lifetime achievement and a special award or''Vishesh Gaurav Pooraskar to Shabana Azmi.
